Evening view of Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada
See the light on top of Luxor? That is called the Luxor Sky Beam which is the strongest beam of light in the world at 42.3 billion candlepower. They say that this beam is clearly visible from outer space and is visible up to 250 miles away to an airplane at cruising altitude. Using computer designed, curved mirrors to collect the light from 39 Xenon lamps and focus them into one intense, narrow beam, engineers say that a person could read a newspaper by Luxor’s Sky Beam from ten miles up. At one time, the magician of the century named Criss Angel levitated on top of that beam for a couple of minutes.
